Apocynum cannabium (Hemp dogbane)
Identification tips
Tip #1: to tell you the truth I didn't like to know the origin of the name of this species, since the name of the genus comes from the Greek apókunon, apo "away"and kúōn "dog", something like passing the dog beyond, referring to the dogbane (Cionura erecta), used to poison dogs. While the name of the species comes from the Latin cannabium meaning Hemp.

2nd Identification Tip: is a vigorous-growing herbaceous plant,often grow in large colonies because the vegetative reproduction.
Leaves
3º Identification tip: the leaves are opposite and usually oval, with a pointed tip, with smooth edges and white veins or cream, may have hair on the bottom and serosity on the upper face.
Stem
4º Identification tip: the stem is greenish and may be entirely purple / reddish or with reddish areas, they aren't hollow.
Flowers
5º Identification tip: the flowers are white, tubular in a bell shape, with yellow stigma, the flowers occur in initially round clusters and spread getting flattered.
Seeds
6º Identification tip: the seeds are thin and long brown, at the top of the seeds are presented by the long, thin and white that facilitate the spread of the seed by the wind.
Fruits
7º Identification tip: the fruits are thin and long green pods, when ripe these pods are black and split, many are covered with white hair from the seeds that are coming out of it.
Roots
8º Identification tip: the root system is vigorous and new plants can be generated by it.
Seedlings - the terror of all
9º Identification tip: the cotyledon is thin and long the first true leaves are opposite and oblong, with the main vein whitish in color.
