Hormesis of herbicides is characterized by low doses that cause stimulation and inhibition in high dose, among the most common effects of stimulation are gains in mass and height by the plant. Another possible stimulus is the anticipation of flowering and greater weight of the seeds, shortening the plant cycle and increasing the weight of the seeds, which favors the propagation of the species. The flowering anticipation hypothesis was tested in resistant and susceptible Digitaria insularis biotypes under treatment of glyphosate herbicide doses.
